I get a lot of old cars that come into the shop for maintenance and repairs. A 1969 Chevy Camaro resto mod arrived and its charging system was still set to power one of them. Typically, most owners simply switch to a high current, 1-wire setup, bypassing or eliminating the external voltage regulator. He was still in that car. It's worth noting that this device I'm reviewing replaces the exact same thing. Solid state but didn't look that old. In the future I will find out if the money was spent on this part. Looks well made, but the fit didn't exactly match the bolt hole pattern of the original parts (some of the holes on these new parts didn't line up with the holes on the original location). Anyway, I screwed it on, secured the connector, started the car and measured the voltage with all the accessories. good to go
