This product is THE ONLY one. Our cat goes through periods where she pees on just about anything and we have tried everything to keep her from going to the same place over and over again to get rid of her. from the seemingly eternal smell. A friend suggested this product a few years ago and while I didn't have high hopes for it, it worked while some other products didn't. That's the only reason we were able to keep our sofa, bath rugs and most of my clothes. Yes, it has an inherent odor at first, which quickly dissipates after a few hours or even after an extra rinse in the washing machine. I've found this works best on fabrics that go through the washing machine. I spray it directly onto the fabric (pre-diluted of course) and sometimes add a little to the wash cycle if they are large items (sheets etc.). I forgot what clothes they peed on. The smell is completely gone and I even feel like it helped get rid of MY smell and stains on old clothes. Carpet treatments work better than others, but they're not perfect. I have a strong sense of smell and can still smell the ammonia up close. But I recommend and recommend this brand to everyone who is in a similar situation. I buy it about once a year because I never know when I'll need it. It has literally saved me thousands of dollars over the last 6 years that I would have wasted if I had to throw everything away.
