Review on ๐Ÿฉธ Scosche Rhythm+ Heart Rate Monitor Armband: Dual Band Radio ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart by Robert Petrig

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It would have been better with the app

I originally ordered the Fitbit Versa 3 because the product description said it showed a continuous heart rate, which would be more comfortable to use than my Polar with a wet chest strap. The fact that it had GPS and a few smartwatch capabilities was a plus, but the main things I wanted was a readable display in ambient light and continuous heart rate tracking. Unfortunately, the heart rate monitor was extremely inaccurate. When I was doing light intervals on my bike it jumped to 130 bpm when I could read my heart rate by hand and the reading was closer to 80 bpm. I returned the Versa 3. This forearm monitor received good reviews for its accuracy. It's really accurate and almost on par with the Polar class. It only does one thing - it reads the heart rate and transmits it via Bluetooth. It seems intended for people with Peloton gear or more modern polar watches than me. Software is not included, but the included information on the box indicates that it is compatible with most iOS or Android fitness apps. It suggests checking the website for a list of compatible apps. There were several offers on the site, but there was no such list. All offerings were fitness apps that either had ads or fees and some sort of membership. Searching the web, I finally found an app called "HR Monitor" which appears to be free and just shows your heart rate all the time. The app and forearm strap work great together and I have no complaints about the accuracy. If the device came with a basic app like this, I would give it a higher rating. Jan 9 Just discovered that Scosche has an app on the play store. "Rhythm Simk"
