Compared to a more expensive device - it pays off!

I've been using Sous Vide Supreme for over 10 years, but I wanted to buy another Sous Vide stove so that I can cook two dishes at different temperatures at the same time. I saw this one and the price was too good not to add another block. Excellent packaging, solid construction, takes up a small space in the device garage. The device is very easy to use, on the top of the device there is a circular dial with which you set the temperature and the time. When you plug it in for the first time, use the dial to set the temperature, then touch the gear icon at the top and set the clock, then the gears and set the minutes and you're done. You will hear a very faint sound of the motor starting to agitate the water as it heats up and it will beep when it reaches temperature and the timer starts. Countdown. I wanted to compare it to my sous vide supreme so I figured it was time for a steak. I put the Pynhoklm in a 6 liter container and ran both units to see which one got to 128 degrees, the Pynhoklm took less than 15 minutes to heat up and the Souse Vide Supreme (double the water capacity) took 30 minutes, so they are both point. Both devices stayed at their temperature on each check, after two hours the steaks came out and they are identical (see photo). and they came out perfectly cooked and still had firmness and crispiness. Overall I am very impressed, the cost and features of this unit are great for a unit that costs 4x the price of a Sous Vide Supreme and it worked just as well as a more expensive unit and I love the idea of being able to use vessels of any size for heating water make this stove a win-win in my book.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • a few little things
