I tried several slipcovers, none of which worked, until this one. My original couch has a very bold pattern, and all the other slipcovers I tried were so thin that you could still see the pattern through the cover. This one is thicker, so completely covers the pattern. I also like the texture. They call it "velvet”, although it’s obviously not truly velvet. But it does have a little texture like velvet would.I actually bought 2 of them, because I wanted the cushions on the back of the couch to also have separate covers, like the seat cushions do. I used the seat cushion covers from the 2nd one to cover the back cushions.If you’ve ever used a stretchy slipcover before, you will know that they don’t stay in place very well when people actually sit on them. I bought some stretchy elastic "suspenders” (I don’t know what else to call them. They’re designed to keep sheets tight on the bed.) I clipped several of those across the bottom to hold the main cover in place. For the cushions, I bought some similar things that are shorter (these are designed to cinch up the waist of pants.) With those things all clipped on, it stays in place reasonably well. Not saying it will never slip, but I don’t have to adjust it every single time someone sits on it, which you probably would have to otherwise.I also bought some foam tubes that are designed to hold slipcovers on. You stuff them into all the crevices to help hold the cover in place. You can find them easily here on ebay.Overall, I’m very happy.
