Not the best option if you cut your own hair

I have been cutting my hair for a few years now. I have always used cheaper clippers, especially the Wahl brand. After damaging my latest clipper I decided I should finally try upgrading to this Oyster clipper and hopefully invest in a higher quality product. Overall, these clippers are well made and durable. The metal blades are easy to use and can be changed if necessary. I have a faded haircut so I had to switch to a smaller blade to be able to use the plastic guards that are part of this kit. As previously mentioned, plastic shields are actually not very well constructed. They just slide on the blade, don't snap, so they can easily slip off when in use. Luckily I didn't make any mistakes the first time I used them, but they fell off a couple of times when cutting. My personal complaint about these clippers is that you can't hear when they're actually cutting your hair. It's not that clippers are too loud, they just sound the same whether you're cutting your hair or not. The clippers I'm used to make a distinctive "clipping" sound when the blades come into contact with your hair. I didn't realize how much I relied on hearing my hair cut when I got my hair cut. Since I can't directly see where I'm cutting my hair (I either look in the mirror or use a hand mirror to see the back of my head), it's important to hear that sound when I'm trying. detailed work. I ended up having to finish the rest of the haircut with my old half broken clippers. I'm sure they'd be fine if you're cutting someone else's hair and you can see at a glance where you're cutting, but they might not work well for someone who sadly cuts themselves. I also highly recommend purchasing separate guards that attach to the blades rather than just sliding on them.
