Review on XLAB Torpedo Versa 200 Black by Brent Peterson

As an engineer, I really liked the Torpedo's design, especially the front computer mount. Unfortunately, the extremely poor design of the dolphin valve forced me to return it. First, my valve was broken and prevented air from entering when you sucked on the straw. Yes, I checked the bite valve; Fluid flowed as expected. Please note that this is not a problem when using a quick fill cap as the pressure is balanced. I was confused about the valve mount design. Just because of a temperature change of about 20F, the bottle's entire valve burst due to the increase in internal pressure. It turns out that the valve is simply glued to some sort of silicone-based adhesive. The valve itself can't even be defective, it can be an excess of glue sealing the damper mechanism. I know of thousands of different ways to mount the valve and the design chosen fits 10 bottom valves. It's so suspicious that I've wondered if the same level of sloppy design has been applied to the rest of the device. So I'm going back and going the other route for aerobar hydration.
