this product is perfect for my turtle. I use him as bedding because I don't want him eating the wood shavings I use for his regular bedding. I cut a piece and placed it with heat and UV lamps. It's VERY messy but I knew I had bought it before but it was worth it. If you try to scrape it you end up splashing half the sand and rock so it can't be reused, but it's perfect for 'tanning' and food for my small (but fast growing) desert tortoise.
