ONYX vs. SmoothCast-300

By far the BEST SmoothOn product. At this point I have to say that SmoothOn is a good company. Thanks Jeremy for your help. In addition, Revain's test sample prices are lower than those of the manufacturer (SmoothOn) or other suppliers. Now for comparison, SoothOn has ONYX (Fast & Slow) that dries black. Both fast and slow ONYX are VERY delicate and problematic resins. They tend to inflate on humid days and BUBBLE (large bubbles) form due to the heat. ONYX if you want black is ok for small parts. SmoothCast-300 is a fantastic epoxy. ATTENTION: It dries quickly, very quickly or becomes hard enough within 2 minutes not to be poured. I started pouring into the mold and the stream that came out of the cup flowed down the mold. It was like those modern pour-in-a-jar sculptures. So I trimmed off the excess, leaving what was already there, and poured a second layer to fill the remaining mold cavity. ATTACHES well to resin that has already dried. So, SC-300 LAYS WELL and dries "VERY WHITE". It grips easily and feels like wood. DRY IN 5 MIM. enough to polish it. By far the easiest way to work with the SC-300 is between the Onyx and the SC-300. It's also hard and slightly flexible, almost like plastic. It's real plastic in every way. If you try to immerse yourself in it, you will not be able to in any way. I recommend the SC-300 for anything involving industrial or commercial parts, which I do.
