As for the blue bases, I like that I was able to get them in a set of six. Absorbency: I poured water on one of them and watched him absorb it right before my eyes. It feels dry and the stone gets colder. They are made of cork and appear to be well made. My biggest problem is that I assumed the marble-like pattern was gold or metallic. I actually ordered them instead of another set for this reason. It's strange, even trying to take a picture, they don't look as flat, yellow/khaki as they are. They're decently made, do their job well, and don't clash so much that a swap is a priority. If this suits your decor, get it!
