SKIP THIS - Poorly done!

Very cool concept but poorly executed. They were bought for my high school son (who doesn't officially play drums) and of course he LOVES them! They arrived with one stick that wasn't as bright as the other, and it quickly dimmed so much that the glow effect was gone. We tried replacing the batteries - I think it would be easier to design and make your own wand! Think goggle screws (who has a screwdriver like that?), and then we had to remove all the circuitry around the battery, including the thin piece of metal surrounding the wand's base (on the inside) that held the adhesive mount for the battery compartment in place and place. - and acted like a chain link, so it had to be pulled off, not bent, so I could try and glue it back in place (impossible not to bend - thick foil I think). THEN you get to the button batteries, which are stacked in the lower part of the plastic part of the joystick. They are held in place by small piles of plastic plugs. I don't think the batteries need to be changed. it was all taken apart so I had to lose. After TWO days of trying everything I could find around our house, I finally got the batteries out. I replaced them with new ones, assembled the circuit and the light was still dim! Very frustrating! I then thought maybe I bought new batteries that were old? So I tried ANOTHER pack of new coin cell batteries - STILL CRAZY! So we send them back and my son is very disappointed! They flexed a lot more than wooden drumsticks, even for us beginners. This could explain why the plastic was immediately filled with tiny cracks down the length of both wands - which became noticeable when not in use and negatively affected how colored light shined through the wand - skip it! Absolute disappointment!
