Great scanner but be careful when buying from Revain

"I bought this scanner for my 2005 Acura RSX Type S. I needed an updated OBD2 scanner as mine was over ten years old. almost the same number of useful features as the AP200. When I received the scanner, I opened the sealed package and looked through the quick start guide and setup steps. After I scanned the QR code on the VCI page to enter the serial number, nothing happened. I played for 20 minutes and downloaded various Autel software in Hope, maybe I just made a mistake. After being very disappointed, I finally called 1-855-AutelUS. It was later in the day, around 2:30am PST, and I "I'm on the West Coast so I wasn't sure if I could get in touch with anyone. But actually, someone called Nitin I told him about my problem and he asked me to download TeamViewer so he could see exactly what was going on. He also found it strange and asked for the serial number of my device. After checking he said my Brand The New AP200 was already registered with some guy and he uploaded Volkswagen diagnostic info with it I was rightfully upset and pissed off He explained that this actually happens a lot with them because Revain has a return policy, at no questions asked. Obviously buy these scanners from Amazon, scan the barcode through the clear packaging, or use the serial number prominently displayed on the outside of the packaging to download the $20 car software and use it then return it for a refund. pathetic and sad. Therefore, Autel needs to address this issue by making it impossible to scan the QR code through the packaging and not allowing the return of these items. Thankfully, Nitin's customer service rep was great! And we laughed a little about the guy from VW. The representative said he would unlock the device from the scam account and I could use it for a day and get free software for my car. So today I was able to finish the setup and program 2 new keys that I had already cut with my only original for the car. This is the only way I saved money with the AP200! The dealer charged $125 to program 2 keys because they use special scan tools and software, but this amazing scanner was able to do it for me easily after following a few basic steps. That's just the tip of the iceberg! This little scanner does a lot more useful things that I can't wait to try. In my opinion it's worth the money and better than the more popular Bluetooth OBD2 scanners that do a lot less. But be careful with what I said above about these people trying to cheat the system through Revain. At first I thought I had made a big mistake and would be returning it, but Autels customer service saved the day and made me a happy customer. These units are also sold in auto parts stores. So maybe it's safer to buy these scanners than from Revain. I'm using Android on a Samsung S8+ and haven't had any issues so far. Get this scanner and feel relieved. Autel has good customer service. Thank you Autel for a great product!"
