Review on Sperry Instruments CS61200 Circuit Breaker by Jermaine Munajj

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It would be better to turn off individual circuit breakers and then.

FedEx Shipping Issues. Can work with Chinese schemes where it is made. Causes multiple hits on circuit breakers. It would be better to turn off individual circuit breakers and then go back to see if they are off. Save your money! 11/11/2015: It's a blustery day in Oregon and there's not much I can do on our wet 70 acres. I went online and tried to find more information about the CS61200. Some of the reviews were positive and some were negative. I read some suggestions on how to use the device and tried again. Following the manufacturer's instructions I have not had good results. There were many very high readings on several circuit breakers giving both high LED readings and beeping. I've tried using the detector rod in positions different from the directions with some better results. Starting with the LED light, with only the green light and the probe 6 inches perpendicular to the switch to be tested, I moved the probe to the switch. This gave slightly better results in distinguishing adjacent switches. Sometimes it helped a little to keep the CS61200 long head bar in a position parallel to the crusher. The switchboards I tested had two different types of switches. Some had a switch in a ¾ inch wide switch block. These tests showed slightly better results. Others had dual switches in a ¾ inch wide switch. It seems impossible to get good readings with this type of switch. I am a retired civil engineer and have worked in various state, city and county building departments for 30 years. I had many opportunities to observe different electrical installations. I am not an electronics expert. In our area, it is common to lay electrical wires parallel to each other. This seems to be particularly the case next to a switch panel. OK. Now my guess is that the part of the CS61200 that you plug into the outlet is sending a signal down the wire to a switch in the panel. When wires run parallel to each other, a signal is generated in the adjacent wire. (Crosstalk?) This would lead to incorrect readings at the switches. Most switchboards I've seen are poorly marked. Throw away circuit breakers and hope for the best to find the circuit works but it means restarting clocks, computers etc which is a headache in XXX! I wanted the device to better label our switchboards to avoid this problem. If you have a lot of discretionary income, buy the CS1200, but be prepared to be disappointed. and it confuses the tester. It's impossible to fix.
