5 star picture hanging solution

I would give this 6 (or even 10 - why not!) stars if I could. This is most useful when hanging large, heavy paintings or wall hangings. I had a large solid wood panel given to me at a previous job. Behind it were two hooks in the shape of a triangle. I hate these things. Even with a picture hanging device, this is difficult to achieve (and IMPOSSIBLE without one). You ended up scratching the wall too. I had never heard of this product and didn't even know it existed. But it sounded good, so I got it. IMPRESSIVE! The simplest suspension of a large and heavy object. It comes with its own (disposable) level. I attached a bracket to the back of the nameplate (using my own level to make sure it sits flat and level) and the screws provided. Then I installed the wall portion of the bracket. I recommend that you install a machine screw on one end, then align and mark the position for the screw on the other end. This is the easiest way to level up. Then mark other screws and install between them as needed. The spirit level provided will slide off the bracket, be sure to remove it before hanging the painting, otherwise you will not be able to hang it as the brackets will not converge properly. I used my own screws to attach the bracket to the wall. Luckily the bracket went over the stem where I wanted to put the plaque, so I used a long bolt to attach it to the stem. I then used my own drywall anchors for the other mounting screws. I've found this to be the best way to attach anything to drywall. Once both mounts are in place, simply take the picture and slide the mount onto the wall mount. It is so easy! A word of advice: be sure to pay close attention and fit the correct bracket to the painting and the correct bracket to the wall and in the correct orientation. The instructions are not very clear and the illustrations are not very helpful. Simply hold two brackets before attaching anything and make sure the bracket you want to attach to the painting slides down and over the bracket that is attached to the wall. As long as this is the case, orient them correctly.
