Bought to convert my rather large record collection to mp3 format. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that the installation was a lot harder than promised. All of the advertising for this product portrays it as a simple plug and play device, however some setup was required to be able to easily listen to it through the computer. The player comes with Audacity which is used to burn vinyl to MP3 and works well. However, there are no basic instructions for using Audacity, and at least one slip fails to inform buyers that if they really want to HEAR what they're recording, they need to go into the Audacity settings and check the "Listen" box. . It seems to me that common sense tells you to listen to what you're recording. Also, you must disable the player's USB port to listen to MP3s played through Windows Media Player. Again, this may be a setting that needs to be adjusted. Finally, while Audicity is included for free and is great for recording, to actually convert to mp3 you need to download LAME.dll, another thing they don't tell you up front. That aside, the audio quality is excellent once it's plugged in, heard and working properly, and I don't see any signs of platform wobble or speed differences. For the price I'd definitely recommend it, just be prepared to spend some time on the internet trying to figure out why it's not working unless you're a computer genius.
