This item was purchased to replace the Original Equipment gas cap on a 1997 Ford F150 4.6 Truck. The item came in an original Ford motorcycle bag and had a tether attached to the lid which was perfect for the truck. So far so good, that should solve the problem with the cover of the vehicle control station. The price was very fair and ensures it will not cause another problem as the code is the original Ford spec listed in relation to the evaporator system. FYI this cap is for a threaded cap, check what type of capacity your filler neck is before you buy as Ford have changed it in subsequent years.
