Review on Triple Scale Hydrometer - Optimal Home Brewing Hydrometer for Beer and Wine by Jennifer Tillman

I ordered this to replace my trusty old hydrometer which I had for 20 years and which broke. Both the hydrometer originally ordered and the subsequent replacement showed a value of 0.002 in distilled water that was too low. I checked on my spectrometer. Thus, while consistent, it is not calibrated. For those ordering you should also be aware that the tubing it comes in has loose ends at both ends and with foam protection it falls off easily and may result in this very fragile tool falling. I recommend taping or taping off one end of the tubing.
