    Easy to use in hydrometers

Easy to read as the different sections are color coded for easy viewing, very accurate and good value for money but two are recommended as they can and must break easily it to determine specific gravity, so there's no harm in having a backup!

    • Not bad but...

Easy to use but no sample container

Just note that you will need a separate container/tube for this. It comes with a protective case only, which cannot be used as a test tube. But it was packaged well and works great.

    • Absolutely amazing!

    Easy to read but large

I can't comment on the accuracy of this hydrometer other than to say that two hydrometers from the same manufacturer give the same results. The markings are relatively legible and this hydrometer is correctly positioned. be very careful I've already broken one. He rolled off the counter onto the floor and fell. have one more learned

    calibration issues.

I ordered this to replace my trusty old hydrometer which I had for 20 years and which broke. Both the hydrometer originally ordered and the subsequent replacement showed a value of 0.002 in distilled water that was too low. I checked on my spectrometer. Thus, while consistent, it is not calibrated. For those ordering you should also be aware that the tubing it comes in has loose ends at both ends and with foam protection it falls off easily and may result in this very fragile tool falling. I…

    durable and easy to use

I have used this hydrometer over 20 times and have had no problems with it. Whether it's correct or not I can't prove, but it's certainly consistent with which beers have higher alcohol levels. Incredibly easy to use and includes a durable plastic storage box and reading chart interpretation, although I used an online equation to determine the alcohol percentage.

    Pros
    • Very good value for money
    Cons
    • Unbelievable price

My areometer is broken. It was exactly as pictured on the website: i.e. the paper scale on the neck of the hydrometer is multicolored, making it easy to read the values during use. I received a hydrometer with a strong white paper scale. I reported this to Revane and was told they would send me a correct replacement similar to the one advertised. I got another one, also with a completely white scale. I received a refund.
