It rips because you can't move both seats forward or backward at the same time.

Due to its design it is as inconvenient to use as a rear seat floor. I have to use a small purse, I have a bag over the coach's shoulder and it's difficult to reach and reach. Hooks for hanging something on the back of the seat come loose every time you move the seat. Looks like a great idea, but I wouldn't buy it again, nor would I recommend it.
