Review on Keg Cap Accessory Kit For Craft Beer Growler - Maintains Freshness Of Carbonated Drinks, By DrinkTanks by Nick Nunez

Not worth the money, especially for the 64oz growler

This review is based on using with the 64oz growler, have owned it for about 5 months as a gift.Sorry but I'm having a hard time justifying the existence of this product considering the hit or miss nauture of "getting it right" on the CO2 fill. I'm hardly a novice when it comes to pouring beer and for the amount of times I've just slightly used it wrong it's just not worth the effort for the tap aspect of it. Being able to just have a cap with the co2 insert and no tap (for 1/4 the price) would be a perfect compromise. I've yet to get more than 1 pint out of the damn thing without needing to recharge or having half a glass of foam. Yes I open it fully, yes I understand how to pour a beer from a tap. If something this basic is $40+ and it's this difficult to use correctly then I see that as a design flaw. Feel free to disagree but that's my opinion. The one part I do like is that once pressurized it does keep beer carbonated for at least a few days though I've only used it for short periods so far. Hence my comment about the cap, if I could have a pressurized cap without the nuisance of the tap for like $10? Perfect.I still feel even that's overkill for the 64oz though. This product seems much more useful for the gallon jug. If you have the 64oz, it's just not worth it.

Pros
  • Works well on my growler. Keeps my beer carbonated.
Cons
  • Pure foam and horrible customer service.
