Review on Envision E2430E85 EcoSafe 6400 Compostable Thickness by Kristin Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More durable and cheaper than biopacks.

Since the city of Minneapolis instituted organic waste recycling last year, our family has been thrilled to be a part of it. But the added cost and reduced shelf life of compostable bags has been an issue. First, we bought biopacks from local stores for over 50 cents a pack (12 packs are $6 or $7). I then switched to buying BioBag Food Scrap Bags, 13 gallon, 12 (pack of 4) in slightly larger quantities through Revain for about 42 cents a bag. Then I tried these stout bags. At around 35.5 cents each, they are cheaper and significantly more durable than biopacks. They're still more fragile than regular plastic trash bags, but I think this is spot on. We've gotten used to being very careful not to tear them up, but bio-packaging still often fails. They hold up much better, so we're happier with them.

Pros
  • Made in America for the blind or visually impaired
Cons
  • Slightly torn
