Wurkkos FC11: A beautiful beam of light in a technically superior package

The Wurkkos FC11 is a 1300 lumen rechargeable flashlight powered by 18650 batteries. As you can see from the picture, it comes with light, 18650 battery, USB charging cable and strap. As usual with EDC flashlights, there is also a clip mounted on the flashlight. The FC11 produces a long-lasting and beautifully colored beam. The joy of the FC11 comes not only from the 1300 lumens it can produce in 90 seconds, but also from the sustained warm 4000k light it emits from the LH351D LED. There are no frozen whites or teals here! From what I've tested, the FC11 charges the included battery to 4.18V and discharges to 2.75V. This means it's safe for both protected and unprotected 18650 batteries. Technically, the FC11 is a wonderful little one rechargeable flashlight. But what really sets it apart from thousands of cheap Revain lights is the quality of the light! In my opinion the 4000k LH351D might be the best tinted LED ever made. There is absolutely no green or yellow in my FC11. Details: When the FC11 arrived, I began testing the flashlight's battery, beam, size/weight, user interface, and charging capabilities. The battery was shipped charged to 3.91V. As you can see from the summary above, I measured both the maximum state of charge and the low voltage discharge cutoff and both are excellent. They should protect the battery and ensure a long service life. I connected the included 3000mAh Werkkos battery to my Opus BT-C3100 analyzer. It showed a real capacity of 2932mAh. quite acceptable. The FC11 has a USB-C connector and comes with a cable. The side switch will flash red while charging and turn green (then turn off) when fully charged. When the FC11 is almost fully discharged, the output will turn off and the switch indicator will glow red. Didn't realize it was piercingly orange so it must have been short! The FC11 weighed 65g without the battery, which is 10g less than my C2+! They are almost identical in physical size. It comes with a magnetic end cap and allows you to attach the FC11 to any iron. FC11's user interface (UI) is simple. It has two ramp modes (stepped or smooth) and it's easy to switch between them. Long press in power off state switches to lowest/moon mode. Double click from appears in maximum output mode. A single click occurs in one of the ramp modes, the level at which the light was turned off. When it's on, holding the side switch changes the light level (low -> high over and over). I like it because it has instant access to low and high light levels when you turn it off, and you can zoom in to any level you want. The step ramp has 5 steps including turbo. At any given moment, on or off, double-clicking will give you maximum power output (turbo). Let me finish with a few words about light conditions and temperature. FC11 is a small flashlight. NO small flashlight can handle 1300 lumens without getting too hot, so the FC11 has a 90 second transition from turbo to the next maximum of 700 lumens. At 300 lumens I measured the temperature of the light at 102F. If you want a flashlight that can sustain over a thousand lumens for hours, you need a head (with cooling fins) the size of a baseball. With those expectations in mind, the light performs great at longer cycles of 300 and 700 lumens. It will be warm but not hot enough to burn you.

Pros
  • Magnetic tail switch design
Cons
  • Something different
