The fan had the wrong connector for my Orico 3549susj3-bk 4-Bay external drive enclosure so I cut it off and replaced its connector from the original failed fan. This made installation difficult (soldering and heat shrink tubing); but the end result worked great. This fan was noticeably louder than other Orico eSATA-III 3/4 bay drive racks that still have the original fans, but not by much. In operation this wasn't a big problem as 2 of the 4 bays are used for offline backups and are not normally powered on. This replacement fan is perfect for a fairly limited case assembly. Cooling provided by this replacement fan keeps the enclosed drive operating temperature within specification. This is important because the backup process takes about 32 hours to back up 16 4TB drives. --- The second case fan of the Orico external drive is worn out. I repeated the repair the same way as before and got the same result. FYI: What I'm fixing is known as eSATA JBOD DAS (Wikipedia). It is possible to replace it with another (and replacing) technology - USB Superspeed UASP DAS is twice as expensive. Consequently, I ordered another Wathai 9225 2-pin fan for the next drive tower failure.
