NEEDS BETTER DESIGN AND 5 MONTHS LATER I'LL DISCHARGE IT

I bought this product thinking the arm rotates so I could just tilt my laptop when I get up from my chair, only to find out that only part of the arm is rotated . Where the arm is attached to the post, it does not rotate. The bar has a groove that runs the full length of the bar and where the arm attaches to it the groin screws go to the collar of the arm and into that groove so you can only move your arm up and down. The arm does have an elbow joint that pivots, but not enough to get my laptop completely out of the way. As you can see in the picture I flipped the arm so it's tilted down to allow for the stand. to clean the armrest of my chair but the problem is that the laptop is a bit crooked, one side is lower than the other. I'll see if I can cut the bar in half and add a sleeve to the bar so I can rotate the whole arm. The legs at the bottom of the stand limit the number of rotations, and if you rotate it too far, the entire stand will tip over. I have already glued one of the pads to one of the laptop holders on the side. Whether I used contact cement or epoxy, nothing seems to be holding the pad to the telescoping plastic side mount. I finally figured this thing out. It's too bulky to use and I'm going to buy a wall mount instead, a telescoping swiveling laptop mount.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
