Short story: MacBook Pro 16", 4K external monitor, hot. Propped up with a few cans of Altoids to provide airflow. Enough! Got me a few stands looked at but I like the touchpad (get it) and didn't want to resort to an external keyboard There were several stands but this one looked like it could be durable and inexpensive It comes in a small fairly basic box. Opening The box reveals a cloth holdall It has a stand inside protected by a foam sleeve When I finally got to the actual product I expected it to open wider - the scissor mechanism supporting the two halves was solid and stable but i thought it was bigger .a minute trying to figure out how the legs go in the grooves but once i figured it out i put it on d en lowest angle. : I really tend to hit the keys. I type like a man Yak! That's one of the reasons why I was very pleased that Apple returned to the scissor mechanism - the keys with a small drop seemed very elegant to me. And the stand? Solid as a rock! No kidding, I can't even bend this thing by squeezing the MacBook hinge! I keep plugging and unplugging something but the stand won't budge! The typing angle is comfortable - I rest my elbows on the armrests of the chair and my hands hover at the perfect angle over the keyboard! And since the stand itself is not a solid sheet of metal but a frame, heat dissipation is greatly improved. Bottom line: if you need some cooling down or just need a better typing angle, this is the ticket!
