My child loves this light. At first they played with him all the time and they still find him funny now and then. The fact that it's a flashlight makes them happy. Music and noises annoy me as an adult, but I think that's the main purpose of such toys. The scary thing is that this toy sometimes works at night when I'm walking by. I'm guessing my kid just threw it in a toy box and it landed on one of the many buttons, but it can be a bit scary when one of those loud toys unexpectedly goes off. (By the way, have you ever seen those animal puzzles that make noises when the pieces are replaced? They have photoreceptors that fire when the light is blocked by the puzzle piece, or something else, like when the sun goes down. I hear crocodiles or monkeys). screams from the toy box every night.)
