Before I bought the Fenix 3, I used the Polar M400 to track my runs. I decided to upgrade to a watch with more features and longer battery life as the M400 wouldn't survive an ultramarathon and I couldn't charge it on the go. I've been using the Fenix 3 for about a week now and it's amazing. The battery life is exactly the same as other reviews I've read and the navigation features are incredible. I now feel much more confident exploring new trails and streets in my city because I can pre-map them and have that information on my wrist for the duration of my run. Haven't run ultra with it yet but I'm sure it will be great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an ultra-running watch who doesn't want to (or can't) pay a fortune for a Fenix 5 or Suunto 9.
