I purchased these spiked feet on the recommendation of an audiophile friend who assured me they would greatly improve the sound of my main speakers, a pair of Boston Acoustic 260's. I lost, so I replaced everything with thicker rubber. I have always been very happy with my speakers and they have worked well with the thicker rubber feet that I have installed. When the new cleated feet arrived, I simply attached them to the existing rubber feet with the small thin adhesive pads provided. It did not work. As other reviewers have pointed out, the spiked legs folded backwards at an angle and I had a really hard time getting them to sit properly on the little disks that serve as a base. When I finally got them installed I noticed a very slight improvement, definitely not the significant difference my friend said I was hearing. After thinking for a while, I realized my mistake. I removed the spiked feet and removed the thick rubber pads from both speakers. Then I replaced the spiked feet and added a drop of superglue to ensure nice firm contact with the bare speaker feet. The exchange was immediate and the difference in sound was enormous. My Bostons sounded more controlled, much more accurate, sounded crisper and clearer, an incredible improvement for less than $40. I am very impressed. So much so that I am now ordering another set for my subwoofer. The milled metal legs with spikes are very well made and if it wasn't for the bad glue they would be perfect.
