I bought this bcuz I liked the design. Period. It reminded me a little bit of the tea masters in Xian where they pour tea in a superhuman way from about 10 feet away.I liked the long spout. It makes pouring small amounts of boiling water easy to control; much easier than trying to pour a small amount of boiling water from a large wide spout kettle.I liked the handle design, with a thumb rest. It makes holding the full kettle effortless bcuz it distributes the weight more evenly than a standard kettle handle with no thumb rest.Ok, now back to reality.This kettle boils fast, but a small quantity only. Max cap is just under a liter. And make sure not to fill to the line they mark as maximum. Boiling water will splash out of the closed pot.Which brings me to a problem with this kettle: the lid. It stays on by tiny brads at side of the lid. And it is very hard to pry off, and terrible to pry off when you need to refill bcuz the previous batch was too small, and you need to boil another batch.bcuz you will burn your fingers doing so.The other slight problem with this is alignment of the heating base. It connects to the kettle at the center, and the base extends beyond the outer edge if the kettle. Seems OK, until you actually use it. It can be a hassle to get the kettle seated on the base.If the lid was hinged and not so hard to open/close, esp when refilling after just having boiled a batch, and if the alignment of the base with the kettle were easier, this would be a 5/5. But as is, 3/5.
