Upon opening it smelled strongly of fish.
I'm sure it's not normal for a product but when we opened it there was a strong smell of fish even though it was wrapped in plastic. This could be felt throughout the room. The smell came from the palm leaves themselves, so either the material used has that smell, or they were exposed to something fishy for several days and were still wrapped.
