I haven't carved wood in a long time. When I first started carving, I accidentally tried hardwood that was actually too difficult to carve. When I found out that basswood is recommended for carving, I was both surprised and concerned because basswood is a hardwood. I avoided the password for this very reason. When I decided to get back into carving, I decided to try this basswood pack. I'm very happy with the word itself. It's fairly easy to carve, it's the proverbial "like butter". The package contained several smaller blanks and two larger blanks. The large blanks are almost 2 x 2 x 6 inches, I'm looking forward to cutting something out of them. The attached photo I cut out of one of the smaller pieces said to measure 1" x 1" x 6 is slightly smaller than this one. My biggest complaint about spaces is that I have limited ideas on what to do with smaller spaces. If I were making handles they would be ok to cut out the outside of the handle. I have a few ideas of what I'd like to do with them, but most fall into the same basic category of small figures.
