I am a hobbyist and I like the idea of a multi-tool. I got this tool a few weeks ago and decided to use it for a while before giving my opinion on it. Here's the thing: I ordered a Tandy edger shortly after trying the edger attachment. I just tossed a Tandy Grooving Machine into my shopping cart. Why? A particular instrument is good in concept but terribly bad in execution. The edger was quite blunt and took quite a bit of work to actually cut the leather rather than tearing it. After a few uses the groove clogged up, I suspect due to the fact that it dulled very quickly, not cutting through the new material to push out the old. A good idea is implemented very poorly.
