I am a big fan of waterproof socks.I bought my first pair over thirty years ago & have been hooked ever since. So in all my years of buying/trying them, I have become well versed in what works & what does not.IMO these socks are very water resistant only. & their water resistant properties are not up to the standards of a true waterproof sock.I have tried these types of socks before. they work great for the most part, until you use them for EXTENDED PERIODS of time in adverse conditions.yes they have a limit, an over saturation point in which moisture will work through the sock …. you likely wont notice it at 1st, as the seepage is very slow. These socks ARE reliably waterproof …. but for a limited time only, IMO about an hour in adverse conditions before they hit the over saturation point which is pretty good if you don't need to be out any longer than an hour.So. although these socks misrepresent themselves by claiming to be waterproof, I think they still have great worth, which is why they rate 4 stars. They fit nicely & are comfortable. they extend farther up than most water resistant socks and will keep you warm & dry most of the time. a really nice pair of cold/wet weather socks. just not the best.4 Stars - Good foul weather socks
