My motherboard (MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI) came with the Realtek® ALC1220 codec. I really wanted to give this card a shot by plugging it into the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 headphones. At first the sound kept disappearing when using Windows 10 with all the latest updates. Second, the sound was terrible and there was virtually no subwoofer effect. I tried downloading the Sound Control Panel from the Asus website, but this crappy program left a lot to be desired. I have to say that the return to onboard audio with the Realtek® ALC1220 codec has been a real treat for me. I'm starting to think nobody makes good sound cards anymore except maybe Creative Labs.
