Great product - a must have for series connected SLA batteries! It's like magic

An elegant solution to battery sequencing problems. If you are charging sealed lead-acid batteries in series, this product is a must. Problem: When batteries are connected in series (in my case it is a 48-volt Ewheels ew-36 scooter with four batteries), the battery life is reduced. With sequential charging, it is not possible to charge each battery in the same way. As a result, some batteries in the series connection will not be fully charged and other batteries will be overcharged. The more batteries you have in series, the worse the problem becomes. Both over-voltage and under-discharge can seriously reduce battery life and performance. As a result, batteries don't last very long and ALL need to be replaced. A battery pack connected in series is only as good as the weakest battery. Equalizer solution: The 48V battery equalizer ensures that each battery in the series block always has the same voltage. This device balances the batteries 24/7 both while charging and under load. Essentially, this device compensates for differences in individual batteries, which over time can result in large differences in the state of charge of individual batteries, causing a healthy battery to fail prematurely. * This device can correct very large imbalances by delivering up to 10 amps. Equalizing current.PROFI:1. Prevents uneven battery voltage during charging. If the voltage is unequal, some batteries will have too high a voltage, causing ventilation, while other lower voltage batteries will not be fully charged.2. Maintains the same battery voltage while the battery is under load. When a battery dies, this device can draw power from the remaining healthy batteries to make up the difference. * This is similar to a spare wheel. Current up to 10 amps can be provided. In this device, the remaining three batteries could supply the low battery power. It's like a magic trick. Very cool! So it's like a spare tire while I wait for my new battery pack to arrive. This device pays for itself by extending battery life. A set of four Deep Cycle 12V 20AH AGM batteries will cost between $200 and $400. If the batteries are not balanced when new, they may only last about a year. When using a battery equalizer, a new set of batteries should last between 3 and 5 years. (Balanced batteries in this case mean the same state of charge and the same battery capacity.) CONS1. This device is a bit pricey at $60. Every time a new set of batteries is put in, there is a risk that one of the batteries will be slightly weaker than the others. This is a kind of luck and depends on the manufacturer. Even if the batteries are carefully cared for, this can lead to battery failure after a few months. So if you're ever faced with a $200-$300 bill for battery replacement, $60 doesn't seem like a lot of money. Connection requires attention to detail. Eight connections are required to connect this device and care must be taken not to disconnect the batteries while the wires are being connected. Make sure none of the wires are touching each other or touching the wrong battery post. If in doubt, consult a knowledgeable person.3. This device always draws a small amount of current. Keep in mind that the Battery Equalizer constantly consumes a few milliamps of electricity and drains the battery very slowly. If you are away for a few months, you can try turning off this device. Think of it as more battery drain. Batteries should be recharged regularly because of self-discharge. Maybe you just need to do it a little more often with this installed device. Bottom Line: If you have series-connected batteries that are running low or failing after a year or so, this device should help. Get a new battery and a new battery equalizer and enjoy the magic! Make sure your charger is compatible with your particular battery pack. In my case, four batteries are charged to 14.7 volts each, so the charger should never deliver more than 58.8 volts. If your charger is outputting too much or too little voltage, you may have battery life issues that a voltage balancer cannot solve.
