Outstanding picture. Complex settings. Unreliable equipment. Schematic customer service.

I've been using it for two months. I bought this to replace my old 720p system. I had to rewire most of the cameras even though the connectors are identical. The old cables are made differently and cannot handle 4K resolution. The picture is excellent and you get color in low-light scenes. The software settings are easy to set up and can be confusing at first. After 2 months, the system suddenly died. No power to DVR. Many times I was unable to reach Swann support by phone. I was able to start an online chat and after some troubleshooting they sent me the dashcam for service. They quickly sent a new replacement. Setting up the app is easy and works well for remote viewing. Would have given 5 stars but unit has failed once and settings are a bit tricky. Update from 5/2021. One of the cameras stopped working after about 11 months. I did some troubleshooting and quickly ruled out the cables and setup issues. As it is covered by a 1 year warranty I went online and used the chat feature and that was the only way to contact them last time. I had to solve more than 50 different problems to fix what appeared to be a broken camera. This took over 30 minutes. I went with them. At the end they said that we will email you a troubleshooting guide. While I had the chat open, I looked at the manual, which was the same one they just did to me. I quickly informed him that I had tried everything and it still didn't work. He proceeded to ask a few questions and please wait while I check something. Note that their chat system will disconnect you if there is no activity for 2 minutes. So I would type something to keep it open. After another 10 minutes he finally said he would send it to the warranty department. They are clearly trying to just wear you down so they don't try to guarantee the product. They emailed instructions and sent a new camera which fixed the problem. Two defects in the first year reduce this to 2 stars.
