Good System: Surveillance DVR Kits

The 4K picture quality is amazing if you have a 4K monitor/TV. Color night vision is advertised, but I've noticed that it only works in low light. But I can handle it. The included 50-60 foot cables can limit camera placement, and if you use a 50 foot extension cable, video quality will drop dramatically. 3 stars for tech support just because I haven't needed it yet. Overall I am much happier with the 4K system as it has replaced the SWANN 1080p system.

Equipment and prices

I am a video surveillance specialist. I am ordering this item for a customer who was looking for a home security system. I installed it and the customer was very impressed with the system and its features. The mobile app needs a few more improvements for developers to check out, but overall a great system. I will also say that a certified CCTV technician does all our installations especially if you are using a Swann system, he will know a lot more about the Swann brand including other CCTV…

Buyers beware of CCTV devices

I am so disappointed with this system and app. Playback takes a long time. I cannot retrieve entries from the system. I've had these for over a year and am having issues with them. Trying to take a recording and removing it from the device is almost impossible. I understand people are looking for picture quality, but it's not just about how good it looks when you look at it. How good is the playback quality? How easy it is to play and record when you have a theft or a problem and to be honest…

I bought a dvr8-5580. The Revain delivery was excellent. As for the product, first impressions were that it was all plastic; cheaply constructed, but still I wasn't expecting anything from the wow department. Assembly is easy, plug and play. I've been using it for two months. I bought this to replace my old 720p system. I had to rewire most of the cameras even though the connectors are identical. The old cables are made differently and cannot handle 4K resolution. The picture is excellent and you get color in low-light scenes.
