Price wise I don't think you will find anything better than this lens (probably 5 stars for what I paid). I hooked it up to my X-A3 and tried it out in my garden just to see how it fared this afternoon. Attached photos did not pass photo editor. I shot handheld at 1/650 with the focus function. I agree that it has very shallow depth of field, but pretty reasonable sharpness given the size/price of the lens. I think you might get better results with a tripod, and moving subjects can be tricky, but it's small and light enough to carry around if you 'might' need it. If you're looking for something with a little more range than the xc 50-230 and don't want to spend $1800 I would suggest giving it a try.
