Review on Princeton Tec SWERVE Swerve Taillight by James Salem

Revainrating 4 out of 5

good light; Fixing defect UPDATED

I bought this light less than a year ago. The light is good and I usually use it in flash mode on one of the bike's rear racks. I went into my garage today and the lamp was on the floor because the rubber strap that came with it broke. While I'm glad this happened in my garage and not on the street, I'm upset that this happened with such a new product. I have a few other lights that I can't use because the cheap plastic clips that come with the kit are broken. I liked the Swerve setup (it's in the product name!) because it gives me the flexibility to place and direct the light. But when the strap doesn't last more than a year and can break so easily during a trip, I feel like the company owes me a replacement. For now I have to use a plastic clip (that will most likely break like all the others) and attach it to my saddlebag where it's less visible. I am very disappointed that this problem has arisen so quickly with this product. UPDATE May 24th. I contacted Princeton Tec after writing this review and the company responded by not only sending me a replacement for the broken band, but a whole new lighting set that is bigger and bigger. except what I asked them to do. The support staff were friendly and helpful both over the phone and via email. I appreciate that they fixed the problem. After-sales service is sometimes just as important as the original purchase. Thank you Princeton Tech.
