Around 2013 BMW switched to a more standard 16 pin OBD2 connector. It's NOT that round plug under the seat, you don't want to use it. The guy who wrote the review and said it didn't fit used it thinking it was a diagnostic connector BUT IT IS NOT. Look for "Diagnostics" in the appendix of the owner's manual and you'll see that they hid it under the bodywork, at least in my case. Confusing? Yes, but do some homework first before assuming you need it.
