I had a strange experience where it seemed to "freeze" after two days of use, but at night it was almost freezing and it was hung on a crane in the wind. I've found conflicting advice on whether to put the water pressure regulator before or after the filter. In general, I think that whatever your configuration, it's best if you don't open the hose all the way into the filter, as this can cause the filter media to "pack up" or otherwise affect performance. When I unplugged my "frozen" device and left it inside overnight, it seemed to work again.
