I've been looking for a larger diffuser for a long time. I have several hair dryers and while they usually come with diffusers, the diffusers tend to be quite small. Based on the measurements given, I realized it would not fit my Hot Tools Taifun Ion Hair Dryer which has a very narrow barrel. Although I was disappointed, it was no surprise. What REALLY surprised me was that it didn't fit some of my dryers even though they were within the range listed for this item. It turns out it's not just the width of the barrel. Some dryers (like the other Hot Tools I have) have something in the middle that prevents them from attaching properly. I also had the same problem with an old Conair dryer I have; While I was able to clip it to my neck as intended, the design of the dryer itself didn't allow this diffuser to be set low enough to hold it securely. Although it technically fit, it kept falling off because it was barely secured. Where it really fitted perfectly was in my new Shark HyperAir. I got a set without diffuser. Luckily, it fit perfectly in the drum of this dryer and held securely. In theory, I think that's a great idea. In practice, however, there are other variables besides cylinder size that can affect the ability of this diffuser to attach to the drum of your dryer. I've definitely had good luck with the HyperAir and I suspect it will work just as well on most dryers of this mold. Once well fixed, a dream comes true. It's significantly larger than my other diffusers, meaning more hair is blown onto it at once. This means faster and more even drying. I wish its expand and shrink capabilities would also make it flatter for storage. It really isn't. At least not much. It's quite big. If it fits your dryer, it's awesome. Infinitely bigger and better than the cheap ones that come with most dryers. But customizing can sometimes be problematic.
