Review on AirThreds Washable Friendly Reusable Protection Filtration for HVAC Filtration by Jonathan Olson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm skeptical but excited

I ordered two different brands of washable HVAC filters to try, this one and another called Filti. While I won't be reviewing Filti here, I can tell you that I believe it's more reliable than the AirThreds filter, which relies on instant decompression. Unfortunately, here's my take on just one AirThreds filter: - Sizing is right - Frame snaps in easily and bungys inside - Lid snaps in and out easily - There's some unnecessary packaging, including the little vinyl pouch that came with the frame was supplied with. Not sure why you would need this in hindsight, but it seems wasteful and unnecessary - I sent a text message to their automated system asking for a reminder to flush the filter. I haven't received a reply message confirming I've subscribed - I like to stick a magnet on the stove to note the install/modified date - I'm curious to see if that little cloth sleeve actually filters things. I'm having my doubts right now, but today the stove caught fire several times, we live in a family of three pets and two adults, and it doesn't seem to be too dusty (that's my telltale sign that we need to change the filter! LOL ) It works as intended, it's an amazing filter - we change our filter monthly due to our pets and allergies. that's probably costing us about $200 a year just for the filters. I love money in my wallet. You? So I thought. If there are any problems, I will update this review. Until then, this filter is currently installed in my house and seems to be doing its job well so far.
