Update: BUY THIS ONE! It works exactly as advertised, is actually an improvement over the model in the pictures (now has a better fan layout) and is very affordable. I even managed to trick my old system into booting from the nvme disk! The difference in latency between any SATA drive and a good SSD NVMe is definitely noticeable. However, don't be afraid to load up SATA m.2 slots for backup storage. I have 2 of these and each slot is occupied and working (4 SSDs total). Don't buy an SSD with a heat sink! Don't add heatsinks! It's unnecessary and still won't work. I haven't even seen temperatures of 50C with my black WD SSD. I didn't do any direct testing on the SSD, just ran basic "medium load" tasks on it. If you do some research you will find in most cases: fans > heatsinks for m.2 drives. I have an old version of this map. It looks the same as in the picture. The one I received doesn't look like the one in the picture or the one I have. In a way it's even better. The fan is now better and actually blows the heat out the back instead of into the case. Comes with low profile adapter and screwdriver. The only thing I don't like is the M.2 drive trays. I think they used to be better. Edit: Actually the new system isn't that good, I used it wrong. Currently only used with SATA M.2, will update this review after upgrading to NVME.
