Review on Bridgeport Mounting 🔧 Brackets by Mitutoyo - 053906B by Peris Auditore

I've read both rave and critical reviews of this pen DRO so I was hesitant to spend money on it. It just seemed like the alternatives sucked in quality and Mitutoyo has never let me down wrong. I found my Precision Matthews PM-949TS Knee Trimmer really needed a QI with a needle and it still seems like the best solution. I've read other people's concerns about short screws. Note that these screws fit into open holes in the reader case. If they are too long, they will stick to the scales and interfere with the movement. In the photos you can see that only a few threads run through. I smeared the threads with some blue Loctite and tightened them. I really don't think this will be a problem (and it hasn't been until now). After you attach the bracket to the back of the reader, you may notice some stiffness in the movement. I was concerned at first, but once installed, you didn't notice it with the pen grip and I didn't notice any adverse effects on the readings. The OEM worked great for my purposes. I had to sharpen the screw holes a bit to remove my metric screws, but overall I was done. The only thing I would wish for was a bigger display.
