I wanted a decent sized table cage with heavy bars to keep an active kennel in it. This is this cell. Excellent quality and size and for that reason I give the cage 5 stars although I have a few issues. The cage has a sturdy plastic floor and a pull-out shelf. It doesn't have a retractable grill, but that suits me. You can safely use the tray without the grill. The plastic floor is deep enough to prevent bird debris from falling out of the cage. The front door is not big enough to hang toys and perches. However, the top of the cage is easily removed for easier cage installation. The cage is easy to assemble. I love that he has 3 food bowls that are accessible from the outside of the cage. I use 3 bowls; 1 for granules, 1 for fresh food and 1 for water. I have no trouble placing bowls like some people do. I never use the dowel rods that come with the cage. So when I build my own bars, I choose the size and position so that no utensils get inside. I wish there were metal plates in the cage, or at least the company would have made metal or porcelain replacements. Peel. I hate black because it's harder to tell if the water is clear or what's in the bowls than white clear plastic. The intelligent locking mechanism on plate opening #1 may not work for an intelligent or active bird. This works on my bird but #2 if you're not careful he will block, which I've done far too many times. It scares me because the bird can run away and I have a cat in the house. I like to open the front door. I think this sounds like a good idea, keep in mind my bird doesn't use it so a bigger swinging door would probably be more useful. I was concerned that the size of the cage would not fit the microwave cart it is on. Don't worry though as the actual base of the cage where the weight of the support is less than the actual dimensions. So, even with small issues, like I said, I like this cage. This is exactly what I wanted and the quality of the bars exceeded my expectations. I have already replaced the water bowl with a metal bowl and will replace the others at some point. It just makes it impossible to access the shells from outside the cage. If he had horizontal bars and metal shells, it would be ideal and more expensive.
