I use it to train my GSP puppy. She currently weighs about 35 pounds and has tested and broken the limits of several other control cords. This one is made of a material that stretches a bit so that it ends up acting like a warning. If she doesn't accelerate to full speed, she will stop before falling off her feet. The ends are tied tightly together with a wire wrap, similar to a taut spring. It holds up and I'm not worried about the ends coming loose which has been my problem with a few other lines I've tried. It looks like the leash will withstand an adult dog, although the goal is to get a well behaved dog off the leash in the next 6-10 months. So far it's been a winner and I highly recommend it.
