Update: I've used the stone a few times and love it. The packaging was great. My stone arrived in perfect condition. It's thick and heavy (which is what I wanted) and fits perfectly in our oven. I rinsed it off with water and didn't let it dry for the next few days. I examined it for defects or microcracks. I haven't seen any. I'm planning on making pizza with him in a few days. I'll post how it went but in terms of quality and delivery I'm very happy with both. For your information. I keep reading that you shouldn't oil your stone, so I won't. I'm going to buy cornmeal and the bottom of a nonstick skillet for the "skin". I'm curious how it will be. Now I just need to find a really good pizza dough. They give you an e-book with this gem so I'll check them out first.
