*Don't worry about the long straws and cut them until you've read this and seen my photos* I've been trying this Salomon ADVANCED SKIN 8 SET every day this week specifically for women. I used to only use a portable water bottle, which just won't do for longer runs, especially in this Virginia heat and humidity (I'm visiting my parents). At first I wondered about the long straws that reached almost to my ears and was about to cut them off. but I decided to experiment first and I'm so glad I did! The straws tuck into the straps easily and I don't want them to be shorter than they are. However, they can be cut by removing the mouthpiece. It's probably easier to cut it out than take it off first. There is a place for snacks and even my phone. On the back there is even space for an additional drinking bladder if required. You could probably store the light layer there (or instead) as well. Wearing is a little hotter than without, but not that bad. One of the bottles only leaked when I realized I hadn't screwed the cap on tight enough. First I took the XS which I usually wear in shirts and I'm only 5ft 2in tall. However, I have broad shoulders and it was too narrow and definitely wouldn't fit over the layer. I have a small one and it's perfect! Even if it stretches a bit, it should still be fine as you can tighten it up a bit (which you'll have to do when you empty the tanks). and generate traction. Who wants to ruin new running shirts?! Not my advice, if you've never used this style of sipping and bladder valve before you hit the road or trail, find out how it works. It's very simple, you just squeeze your bladder and open the valve to drink. Careful with your mouth full! It only takes a few sips to feel good! They are easy to fill and clean. I try to drink from it evenly so I'm balanced, the first time I didn't and it was a little awkward but not scary.
