I bought this because I got a bunch of spam credit card offers with real plastic cards. What I've already done is buy a guitar punch that cuts through credit cards so I can have picks with built-in finger grips. Sort of like the hole punch, but I left much larger "holes" as picks. = ), but I had too many parts from the cable company etc. and I had a brilliant idea to punch holes in them and use them for different colors as Christmas decorations. (will do next year) worked great with credit cards. I actually have some skin and although I haven't used this tool I'm sure it will work. It's a decent tool. I've also used it on thick cardboard out of the box. worked fine. 10-15$ when I bought it, I'm sure I will use it many more times for a variety of purposes. (belt, notepad, leather and for new ideas) For such a cost, it's good to have "just in case" on hand to shed (or GAIN. Oo) a few pounds or have a special purpose and maybe even NEED by yourself. glad you bought it. There are no regrets or claims here.
